Penny Candy !

I remember as a kid that with a quarter you could get a lunch bag FULL of penny candy !  I loved the dots on the strip of paper.... Are you old enough to remember the good old days ?

We had a corner store that sold all kinds of penny candy.  I used to go in with $1, and I was set for awhile.

I do remember being able to get lots of candy for a penny plus get an ice cream cone for five cents.  Gas at that time was twenty five cents a gallon.  But I don't know if I would call them the good old days for me.  I appreciate how many things have changed since that time.

But today you can not even get 1/4 of it with that price. I can see a lot during the Halloween

those were the days!  what a whole quarter could buy!  and even 2 for a penny deals!  miss that!  always walked out with a whole bag of goodies!  yum!

I'm older now yes I remember when candy used to be as low price as it is now. Used to buy a lot candy for little bit of change. Didn't have a bunch of money back in the day, but when pennies were worth more than, than now!

Yes, I remember when it was a penny,   We loved it . There is a story her that has 3 piece for a nickel that it pretty good with the old candies.

The earliest I remember was when gas was 37 cents a gallon. I remember the dots but other than that I was not much of a candy person. I do remember when a pack of baseball cards had a stick of gum in it.

You are something ! What the heck ? the beggars are you talking about the little kids on Halloween    ??  Better to bob for french fries ?  This question is about CANDY  not APPLES...  And mostly about what was great about being a kid in the 60's , geeeeeeesh!

I remember the penny candy.....I liked the dots on the paper.  I remember the candy necklaces (that would probably break my teeth now).  I also liked  chocolate cigarettes (they also had white ones and bubblegum cigars)

I remember candy that looked like the candy in your picture, but I don't remember the dots on the paper.  I guess I was too excited to get to the candy to stop and look at the wrapping!  I remember going to Florida with my parents and seeing salt water taffy in every gift shop.  It was wrapped up in paper twists like those in your picture above.  It was so chewy and delicious!

I am 64 so yes I remember.  When I was in elementary school an elderly gentleman had a candy shop with all the penney candy jars lined up on the counter.  Those truly were the good old days.
