Eagles

Eagles are rare sightings in the area that I live.
Yesterday, however, I saw 4!!  Each one was flying.
I was driving so I could only take quick glances at them, but they sure made my day!

I like different kinds of exotic birds. I went to yale university hospital one day and seen a hawk  sitting on the ledge. I took a picture of it :)

That's really neat.  The only eagles I see lately are the ones on my sons NFL championship clothing or the one that flies at the games.

I seen a bald eagle in Yellowstone National Park a few years ago. I can't remember seeing a eagle any other time.

I see eagles every now and then around here.   I remember last year sitting and looking out my sliding glass door and there was a red tail hawk on the porch railing looking in. :o :o

There use to be 2 nests in my area.  We never told anyone where either was.  The one somebody found out and tried to shoot one of the eagles.  Pretty sure after his co-workers were thru with him he no longer wanted to do that again.

Whereabouts on the lake are you, Joe? I live about a mile from Lake Erie myself in Sandusky.

We have several local spots where bald eagle have built nests in the past. I haven't really checked recently to see if they are currently inhabited.  There was one for several years right outside a bar/restaurant in town and it got a lot of attention.  The nest was destroyed one year in a bad storm and the tree was vacant for a year or more, but they did eventually come back again and rebuild!

I love seeing birds and animals that aren't usually found in my area too. One day we had a flock of humongous wild turkeys in our back yard that was fun to look at (but stay very far away from!) and I even enjoyed seeing a coyote in my neighborhood a couple weeks ago even though that is not such a good thing to find in suburbia.

It's their natural land even if you and your pets squat on it.  My cousin had a flock of ducks which she clipped their wings ,put them in an open enclosure away from her house and a family of foxes ate them.   My cousin who had fed the foxes  using a food pile suddenly wanted them dead(had 2 guys with guns in a truck outside where we lived,I called the cops and saved the foxes)
