My daughter was invited to plenty by mail, I wished I saved all of them, and gave them to her man.

I think it depends on the person who is in the pageants.  I don't watch them so can't judge one way or the other.

I don't think they are really good for children, a lot of times it is the mother living through her child and not really what the child wants to do. Adults can do what they want, just don't pretend your the best, because there are millions of other women and or men that  are just as good if not better, and not having to show their bodies. It is  not the best for the children to see all of these pretends out there. The children think that is the only way to be popular and it is not good for them. They need to learn to be what they are and be happy with their bodies.

Too much focus on appearance in my opinion. And putting children in beauty pageants is just wrong.

I don't like beauty pageants.   Many years ago, the announcer gave the girls measurements.
36-24-36 seemed to be the "ideal" female shape.

I cried when I didn't "measure up"

I consider them bad due to the overrated moms making their child go through a lot of suffering and such just to win it all.

I was in a pageant when I was about 15. Looking back as an adult I realize it was nothing but a waste of money and just a bump in self esteem.  It was a strange experience and if I wouldn't do it again.  On the flip side now I'm a mother to grade school - college aged children and don't think I'd actively seek or support my kids participating in a pageant.  I work with a young gal - just turned 16 and she absolutely loves participating in pageants.  She could care less about the money won... get's more excited over the tiara's she brings home.

Putting females on display while guys watch and put their hands in their pants, what's not to love about the innocence of beauty pageants. Every guy filming, taking pics is a potential perv and with all the technology today they have even more fun and trophies. Imagine all the secrets hidden. At best you hope it doesn't go beyond that but you never know ? Put yourself, your children on display and the worst can happen.

I'm not in favor of them unless they are adults and making the decision themselves.  I don't like mothers pushing their daughters into them.

I don't think beauty pageants, especially for children, are good at all. It sends the wrong message to a little girls about their worth being equated to their looks. It's also just creepy to have people evaluating them for their looks, and dressing them up in clothes that often seem too adult for them.
