Marjorie Stoneman Douglas HS

What are your thoughts about the NRA, teachers having to carry guns and the entire thing from the shooting @ MSDHS on Valentine's Day?

It was such a tragic thing. 17 lives lost and 3 students are still in the hospital recovering.

Praying for all of these families as well as all of the staff and students

Who says the teachers are trustworthy to carry weapons. If someone wants to hurt/kill another then stopping that will be very difficult whether by guns or edged weapons,poison...

very sad,,,,   and uncalled for.  Now they want teachers to carry guns ???  They have enough in worry about trying to teach this kids.  hire some more extra guards fjor the schools and leave the teachers to teach.

I'm sure guards will risk their lives for minimum wage and free coffee to save strangers .

Hello! :D :)

Whenever there is a loss of life I always find that disheartening. However, the fact that teachers are needed to carry guns is even more disheartening. What is this world coming to that our children can no longer learn without fearing a school shooting? Nonetheless, I don't think teachers carrying a gun makes things any better. Guns are not the problem people are. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:   :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

I think that the Preseident has the right solutions, on how to deal with the gun violence in school...

I think that the teachers have enough problems dealing with students and other work issues. they surely do not need one more add pressure of dealing with having a gun also to think about in there classroom.

I don't think having teachers carry guns is the answer, infact I think it will just cause more problems.  While all this was being reported, I saw on the news a video of teacher beating the crap out of a young kid.  I cannot imagine what would have happened had this teacher been armed.   We have enough problems with cops knowing when to use a gun or not.

Don't trample on my gun rights because of crazies...more armed guards in school...CCW teachers if they wish after extensive background check.

Banning guns only makes things worse...every city that has gun bans have the highest crime rates in America...criminals and crazies will always find a way to get a gun.

It's really sad. Makes me wonder when it's going to happen next time. Teachers carrying guns...I don't know...I don't have a solution to the situation unfortunately.

I haven't heard anyone saying we should make teachers carry guns, only that it should be allowed if they wanted to. If I were a teacher in today's school, I absolutely would want to carry a gun.

Such a sad thing that could have been prevented if people had done their job.

I think teachers have enough on their plate without having to carry firearms on top of that. Who's paying the guns? The school? Teachers barely get anything for classroom supplies.
