Do you always lock your house?
« on: February 09, 2018, 11:14:57 pm »
I always do. Even if I am inside in kitchen, which is right beside the door. I have a co-worker who says her doors always stay unlocked, and she has 2 toddlers. I would be scared.

Yes we keep our house, garage door and vehicles locked even when we are home.
There hasn't been any break ins in our town, but having a locked door is a deterrent to having someone just walk in.

I keep doors locked all the time.  The only time they are not locked is in summer when we are in 5he backyard, the back door is open.  At night or when we are gone we have the alarm in.

I am not used to locking my doors but am trying to become accustomed to it. All you have to do is follow Ocala Scanner and it makes me remember. Never locked the doors when I was a kid

I live in a low-income place with lots of apartments.

I lock it when I am inside, and even stepping thirty feet to dump garbage.

Creepy neighbors, many any way.

I would lock it these days no matter where I lived. Life is getting so crazy.

Yep always keep doors locked without fail.  My sons got me into that habit from living in the country where no one would hear you and our neighbors were far away and couldn't be seen from our house.  It pays to be safe even in our area where most would consider low crime.

Yeah we do most of the time.  I heard many people don't in Europe.

Yes, I do keep the doors and windows of where I live, locked. Doing so is for safety reasons.

Try to lock up, but I know something is probably not always locked.

When I was a child, my parents didn't lock their doors when they were home.

But I keep my house and my car locked all the time. I've had things happen that have made me more vigilant.  :'(

Yes, and I'm amazed that someone would ever leave their house unlocked.  Exception: My back yard is fenced on all sides.  It should be safe to leave the back door unlocked when I am in the back yard.

Now, about leaving windows unlocked... is that safe?  No one is going to climb a vertical wall (or set up a ladder) and break in to the second floor windows, so it should be safe to leave them unlocked and open on hot summer days to ventilate the house while you're away.  Unless someone uses a drone to rob you... has anyone tried that yet?

We've all seen the commercial where the apartment windows have been left open during a long vacation, allowing pigeons to fly in and make themselves at home  ;)  What happened to the screens on those windows?
