I say thank heavens for Caller ID. I usually  don't answer unless I know who's calling or a survey or I'm in a generous mood. I get a lot of calls for donations to this cause or that cause. I don't answer because I don't have any extra cash. Thanks to the COLA, my SS stayed the same, and hubby's increased by $1 because of the medical supplement insurance rising.

Anyway, the ones I love are the ones that are scammers to grab your phone number to call others. Those start with "hello. This is Joe. Can you hear me okay?" Once you get to that sentence it's too late. You have to hang up no later than "Joe"  or they have your number. I know that voice well and don't let it get past "hello.". They call 20 times a month from different numbers.

Yes I think it is definitely an international call and also a robocall. You should not even pick up these calls. I put free Nomorobo software on my home phone and it is eliminating the robocalls really well for me. I am quite pleased about it.

I generally never answer a number that I don't recognize unless I know I'm waiting on a call.  If it is that important, the person will leave a voice mail.

Be careful with unknown numbers. I answered an unknown number accidently and was charged international fees on my mobile bill. I usually don't answer any number I don't recognize.

I have never gotten all 0's but I don't answer anyway.  My calls go to voicemail or I will block the number if noone leaves a message.  I need a swipe left on my landline.

I've got calls and when I look at the caller ID it's says  None ??? I just do not bother answering any calls if I do not recognize the number, my take is if it's important they will leave a message; the National Do Not Call Registry just does not seem to work; I have registered our home and cell numbers multiple times  and still get those annoying calls, so I just ignore them!

I don't call any of them back nor do I answer any calls that I don't know who they are from. Although I do have a couple I have to answer , those coming from out of town  from the doctors but am pretty  sure who they might be from  the area code and the  time and date. They call to verifiy  if I am  going to be able to make my appointment. They have of course  several phones in the  building so you just  don't which number they will be calling from. Otherwise I just look at the  numbers an let them ring and the blocker turns the off on 3 rings

I use my caller id and call back all these telemarketers or scammers to tell them to remove me from their call list. The ones with disposable cell phones"number not in service/no longer exists are the pains and the lifelike robot  voices " Hello my name is Emily..." I try to have fun with the scammers like the Indians who call saying they have free money for me. Lately they've gotten the message and the calls have gone from a dozen a day-0 or 1.

Why call them back?  Why don't you just answer it when they call.  I usually block the numbers. I don't get that many.

I usually do not care to answer calls that I do not know. There is a 50/50 chance it might be a scam or a wrong number. If important, just leave a message on my voicemail.

A wrong number is not as big of a deal. I had an elderly woman call me a few Sunday's in a row.  I started to recognize the number. She always apologized. The number she was calling was close to mine.  I just told her she had the wrong number and it was all good.

If they call you they have the number before it rings. The spoofing is easy. They just grab random numbers from the area where you live thinking you will think it is local and you will answer.  Most people won't answer the phone any more if they do not have the person as a contact.  That is good and can be bad.  Sometimes you could need to answer the call because it could be telling you a loved one is hurt or in the hospital at the ER or dead.  Or somebody found your lost wallet and you won't answer the phone so they can't tell you. lol
