Phone Calls
« on: January 28, 2018, 04:56:26 pm »
So today I get a phone call (Sunday) and the ID says +1 (1) and then the local area code and the local prefix.  The +1 has me thrown.  Sounds like an international call.  What do you think?

How about the 000-000-0000  calls . I've had them many times,  and to best my knowledge the +1 is a out of country call ! Maybe its a unknown rich family members Lawyer saying he left you 10 million  "BUT"  you need to deposit 500.00 into this off shore account first !    8) :) 8)

I have never seen anything like it.

I think I saw it once.  I didn't answer the call.

I have got the all zeros before.  I was pretty sure the +1 meant it came from another country.  I have even got them that the caller ID on the phone showed the country name.  I don't remember where it was now but I got about 3 different ones.  As for a loved ones lawyer calling me.  Nah, he ahs emailed me several times though.  He is desperately trying to get ahold of me and does not understand WHY I will not respond to him.  After all he took the time to track me down thru email and has found that I am the ONLY living relative.  Dang, my cousins are going to be disappointed. haha

Don't call back!   It's a scam.

Yeah, I never call numbers back.  Unless they leave a message and I want to talk to them.  I just thought it was an odd number.  Esp when then the first 6 numbers matched my local numbers.
I don't answer numbers I do not know either.  Leave a message if you know me and I will call you right back or as soon as I can.

Be carefull of possible scammers

I did not answer it.  I knew it looked off.  I had the "IRS" calling me for weeks.  They were sending a cop to arrest me. haha  The finally got tired of saying I owed them money and needed to call pay them what I owed with iTunes cards.  The last time they called they said the IRS had chosen a select few people to give monies to in the amount of $10,000 grant.  All you need to do is call and give us the bank account info so we know where to deposit the money.  Uhm thanks, but you can just send cash.  I am good with that.

I use my caller id and call back all these telemarketers or scammers to tell them to remove me from their call list. The ones with disposable cell phones"number not in service/no longer exists are the pains and the lifelike robot  voices " Hello my name is Emily..." I try to have fun with the scammers like the Indians who call saying they have free money for me. Lately they've gotten the message and the calls have gone from a dozen a day-0 or 1.

I am getting calls like this too. It seems international, but I never pick up. I know that I am getting lots of calls for health insurance enrollment. But I never pick up if I do not recognize the number.

Power companies and such tend to leave automated voicemails, any that you redial and "number not in service and such is a scam.I was on the "do not call" list for a long time but I guess they circumvented it and right now it's not worth the time to call the proper authorities or such lil hassles

Hard to tell it looks like a start to an international call or it could just be a scam

I usually do not care to answer calls that I do not know. There is a 50/50 chance it might be a scam or a wrong number. If important, just leave a message on my voicemail.

That doesn't sound familiar to me. I'd be wary of scam calls. I'd suggest avoiding it and using caution.
