Why do they bother?

I have learned never to pay attention to the number of minutes that it will take to complete a survey.  Most surveys will post the length of time needed to complete the survey.  I must confess that I usually go for the shorter surveys, first!  But that number, more often than not, is incorrect.  It's a great thing to be accepted for a survey, but if you only have a limited amount of time, and you pick a ten minute survey because it is short, and it turns out to be a thirty minute survey, then it can be a problem.  I'm not complaining, I'm just observing. Today, I clicked on a ten minute survey, and the very next screen told me that the survey would take  twenty-five minutes. Is this a real problem or am I over-reacting???

If a survey has filled its quotas they usually reroute you to another that still needs responses. The shorter ones are of course going to fill up much faster than longer ones

It is a real problem.It happens to me all the time.It seems like anymore I can't complete a survey without spending 2 to 3 times the estimated number of minutes on it.

Not really a problem, just their normal mode of operation.

I think there can be time differences because sometimes these companies act as an aggregator or portal for multiple survey places... it might direct you to a totally different survey based on their needs compared to your demographic. I don't claim to know 100% how they work, but I understand alot of how they work. I know its frustrating but it's just the nature of the business.

Today I began a survey.  I have no memory of how long it was supposed to be but it kept going and going and going. I, finally, had to give up.

I would never have attempted this survey if I had any idea of how long it would take.

Like yourself, I have begun many surveys that said something like 5 minutes on the screen.  I click on, possibly answer some questions and then get another screen telling me that I qualify for a survey lasting 25 minutes.

I've had the same thing happen to me several times.  It was already mentioned that in all likely hood, this happens because of being re-routed to another survey that has not been filled yet.  As is the case with you, there are times where I am limited on the time I can spend on Fusion Cash. 

Then it's the old - should I open a survey or should I wait until later?      Sometimes it works out well an other times... not so much.

Those continual loop surveys are so annoying! I had one the other day that kept coming back to "what country are you in?" I'm thinking to myself, OK I've answered this like 5 times now, enough already!! I just don't have the patience for the long ones, more than 15 minutes is just too much for me.

It happened to me again tonight.Earlier this evening on another site,I was directed to a J.D.Power survey that was supposed to take 20 minutes.I wound up spending 61 minutes to earn 50 cents.

Ladavia, that's a good point.  I never considered that it was a rerouting technique because the original survey was no longer available.  Some companies do mention that the quota has been fulfilled and that you can try another survey.  I would prefer a better explanation on that second screen that switches the time limit.  That way my blood pressure would stay a little more even, knowing a reasonable explanation. I'm not complaining.  It's all part of the survey taking process. I'd rather have them switch the timing than to quit offering me an opportunity altogether!

Wow! Yes that is way too long. I did one today that was about 15-20 minutes and got 30 cents so that wasn't too bad. If it goes over 30 minutes, I usually just back out of it, I get so bored with many of them.

Know what you mean. Hate when I see a 30 minute survey for 40 cents so glad when I don't qualify. There are a few nice ones that take 5or6 minutes for 80cents.

I'm on some sites that dont reroute surveys so if you dont qualify for the initial or it is closed then you just lost that opportunity. These are sites that pay more per survey but far less earning capability and nothing for disqualifications. . I'll take be constantly rerouted until I can get something over it just ending.
