We actually had the same supper you're making for New Year's Day for our New Year's Eve, bean soup made with leftover Christmas ham, and cornbread! Our New Year's Day supper will be pork roast, collard greens, rutabaga, cornbread and homemade cinnamon applesauce (traditional here in the South). Hope you are having a wonderful New Year's Day!

A friend of mine invited me over to their house for dinner so it's up to them what they are going to make for New year's day dinner

Oh my gosh....here in PA you must eat this Pennsylvania Dutch meal on New Years Day.  Seriously I’m willing to bet 99% of the people in our area eat this.  Pork roast, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and a salad with hot bacon dressing.  You can add other things, but the above are a must!

Nothing special on New Years Day.  Today I had Chili with cheese and oyster crackers.

We usually have collard greens and blackeye peas always, then add the meats and other dishes but those two are generally staples.

I cooked a large pot of white beans to be served over rice. Also fried some chicken. I cannot eat the foods which are suppose to bring you good luck.

Always steak and lobster tails with baked potatoes and salad.  Steak is my favorite and my husband and kids love the lobster ( which I can leave without)
