Any bird owners out there?

I love pet birds. I grew up with parakeets. The last one was named Twitter and our current one is named Keko. The plan for the next bird is to get a cockatiel after I move next summer.

Does anyone else have pet birds? If so, what are their names?

I have a quaker parrot named Emmett. He's five years old. Previously I had a quaker named Barkley. He lived to be 20 and passed away. My heart was broken. I also had a cockatiel named Spike. I got him when he was pretty old so I only had him a few years.  I love all birds...wild and pets.  Emmett can say a lot of phrases...Emmett want to take a bath, Time to go nite-nite Emmett, Mama loves baby bird, etc etc.  He's a good bird.

Had a couple of parakeets when my children were young. They are grown and out of the house now and no one seems to have interest in birds. However, I have a friend who has a parrot.

Had a little parrot when I was little... I must say I miss that little cute thing who would randomly repeat words.... it was such a blast! ))

I do not own birds. I do not have the time to care for them. They sometimes make lots of noise and I think that  this would be distracting to me.

I had a pet white pigeon(found him unable to fly in my alleyway and didn't want my cats killing him so I  got him into a big box and  put him inside my place for awhile as he healed) He basically fell off my roof after having a territory dispute with other pigeons and was in shock. I had him for a few years but he eventually set off  with a flock,but once in awhile I see him flying around the town.

We have a Indian Ringneck named Tilly, he's about 25 years old now. He is a sweetheart unless you put your finger through the bars of his cage. We got him when he was about a year old and he has never forgotten how the kids used to do that before then.

I had several parakeets one time. But when I was getting to move and was ill I had to spend time living with my brother and his family and they had cats so  I gave them back to the man whom I got them from.  he was understanding about it and said if I ever wanted some more  he would give me some more.  I never went back. Loved having them. They were great company. Now it seems like I am never home enough to really take care of them.  I grew up with my grandparents having them and loved them then.

When our youngest daughter was young we had a series of Cockatiels.  We both enjoyed them so much but our luck wasn't too good with them.  After Harley (our last one) died unexplainably and certainly unexpectedly we gave up.  Really enjoyed them for 5-7 years.

I had a pet bird for a short time when I was a kid. I plan on getting another bird when I move to a new place next year. So far w only have a Beta fish the kids named Rocket.
