What sane person doesn't want a tax cut and why?

I can't understand why people protest against getting more of their money back.  Unless they don't want to work.

The tax reform is only really beneficial to the wealthy. People with lower incomes may technically get more money back but its going to cost them more in the long run because they won't be able to claim the same exemptions

Ladavia covered part of the problem. Another problem is that this tax reform bill adds over a trillion dollars in debt over a ten year period. My children will have to deal with this. I have taught them how to be fiscally responsible and they have a better grasp on how to manage their debt than our government has for several decades. Unfortunately they will have to deal with the debt brought on by this act. The tax reform was supposed to pay for itself (like the southwest border wall) but, instead creates a larger burden. The government runs into a potential shut down, seemingly every year, but seems content in creating an even larger bill for our children to try and balance. The upper class/wealthy are certainly sane enough to want a tax cut (I do not believe any of the readers fall into this category) while the middle class/poor gain very little (if anything) from this move.

Ppl want tax cuts and tax write offs on everything.  I rent out parking spaces for 150.00 a month and one woman I give receipts to soi she can write it off on her taxes,while everyone else just want a place to park 24/7 in an area that from 6 pm - 6 am parking is insane. Good for her though if she can do both w/o problems.

Even though it's complicated folks need to read about the tax bill.  Like others have said, it will give more to the wealthy than the middle and lower classes.   One thing to take note, owners of golf courses will still receive a large deduction by promising not to build on the property.   Who do we think is going to benefit from that deduction?

Because one side uses scare tactics.  Over 50% of people in the USA don't even pay taxes.
80% of the people making less than 80,000 a year will see a tax cut.
Who cares if the rich don't pay taxes - they don't now... Warren Buffet who is worth $81 Billion states he has never paid taxes on it... there is so many loopholes & deductions now for them to not pay taxes.

If California, the state I am living in, can currently legislate $1 billion dollars for illegal/undocumented health care while owing 174 Billion in government pensions, then the people here are paying too much taxes.  The state spends money they don't have, California is currently 400 Billion in debt.... the roads are falling apart, the dams are failing.... but sure spend more money & tax middle class people to death.  About 76 cents tax on every gallon of gasoline.... just saying.

All sane people want tax reform/cuts but that is not the joke that is being discussed, this will benefit the large corporations and the billionaires.  In fact the whole Trump presidency has been about benefiting large corporations, he has deregulated everything and anything without understanding what the regulations do.  Basically the average middle class person doesn't matter or count.

Most people just listen to the media when they say the rich get more.  Well if it gets them more money then there are more jobs.  But the bottom line is more money for me.  This helps the economy because I can buy more.

I haven't read the bill, lol, but only what others have said about it...taxes are just so confusing, it's always complicated to say who will get what...there are so many options for deductions, yet, most need certain criteria....

they are often misinformed on what they think it will do.  in my state our govenor at the time wanted to get rid of personal property taxes he thought it was dumb to continue to pay taxes on what you already own. my state was dumb enough to want to keep it in place.

Bottom line...we need roads, schools, etc.  That's what taxes are for.  But the amount the wealthy get out of paying is ridiculous.
