I have a cell phone for my long distance and I keep the landline to have dsl otherwise I would only have the cell only. The sollicitors call my landline all the time.  I usually keep it off anyway.  I think it is a great ideal to have the cell only.

I decided to shut off my home phone and make my cell phone my main phone. Im wondering if anyone else has done that? Also, would really love to hear from other members what they feel the pros and cons are.
:wave:Hello, I am new to all of this, I'm praying it will work out for me.

I just had my home phone taken out because we never used it, everybody calls us on our mobiles.  I love not having to pay for a landline. The only bad thing is I have a nine year old boy, not interested in phones yet but will be in the next few years, I'm sure :crybaby2:  I guess when that time comes we will have to decide whether to get him a cell phone on our plan or put in a new home phone. :angel12:
Nice talking to you all

Haven't had a home phone in 3 years, and it works fine.  My parents hate it when they try to call, though.  They don't understand why you wouldn't have a home phone, but for us, I just don't see the point of paying the extra money each month so that my parents can call me on it.   ;D

well I was always one that never had a home phone but when I got married two years ago I put one for the house. For example, if you want to order from some pizzerias they need a land-line number basically to track you down. It's stupid but they won't deliver to people with cell phone numbers. It shows up on their store caller id. But that's not the main reason I got it. I got it basically more for job offers. That way I get the messages stored on my home phone and I don't accidentally delete them on my cell. I have a touch phone. They tend to erase easily with the slightest tap on the screen.

You can if you have children in the state of florida it's illegal not to have a house phone. They can find you even arrest you

i have used my cell phone as my main line since 2004.  I have had no real complaints.  Sometimes it is a bother to plug it in and charge it, but i cant still talk on it while that is going on unlike a portable phone.  plus, blue tooth is a life saver for your ears!

I've used only a cell phone for several years. They have free faxes on line. The cable TV companies will be hurting too.

Unless you children, or a job where you work from home, I think having your cell phone as your main phone is a fantastic idea. I don't see any other reason for a landline.

Been using cell phone as main phone since 2004. Don't even have a land line no more but using skype as home phone for family and friends to reach me.

I used to have a landline and cell phone.  I realized one day that the only time I used the landline was to call my misplaced cellphone. I got rid of it. It was only $5.00 a month but now I am $5 richer every month.
