Priceless, car keys

They weren't in my pockets. Suddenly I realized I must have left them in the car. Frantically, I headed for the parking lot. My husband has scolded me many times for leaving my keys in the car's ignition. He's afraid that the car could be stolen. As I looked around the parking lot, I realized he was right. The parking lot was empty. I immediately called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen.   

Then I made the most difficult call of all to my husband: "I left my keys in the car and it's been stolen."

There was a moment of silence. I thought the call had been disconnected, but then I heard his voice. "Are you kidding me?" he barked, "I dropped you off!"   

Now it was my turn to be silent. Embarrassed, I said, "Well, come and get me."

He retorted, "I will, as soon as I convince this cop that I didn't steal your car!"

Oh, my goodness! What a roller coaster of emotions you must have been on! But you're right: the older you get, the more stuff like that happens, LOL. i'll be 56 next month, and I'm finding that life is becoming more of a comedy as it goes on. Well, I'm glad that your car wasn't stolen!

Oh, how funny (at least to me - I'm sure it wasn't to you when it was happening!)!  That sounds like something I would do!  I was just reading today about a man who had parked his car and then couldn't find it.  He just found it - 20 years later.

My wife is the same way but takes it a few steps further. I'll preface this with she is extremely sweet, bright and successful at running over one hundred and forty employees in five different states. She will close the microwave door before a cycle is done and not hit cancel so the household never knows what time it is. Not only will she leave the keys in the car but she will also leave the doors wide open. Leaving water running is always one of her strengths. She left the hose running next to our old house once and we had puddles in our basement. Lights will be left on all over the house. She can never find her phone or her keys. She probably spends thirty five minutes a day searching for things. I have stopped closing refrigerator doors, car doors, searching for her phone/keys/makeup bag and just factor an extra thirty five minutes into any trip that we are taking.

Oh wow, what a story of life! I would have called my spouse first, just cause I would make sure he/she didn't need it for any reason! Glad that your car's still ok!

Lol....I actually lost my keys like a month ago...I literally drove my car from the back of my school to the front...never found them, had to get new ones....such a crazy story....
