headache pain relievers
« on: October 30, 2017, 10:58:33 pm »
Is there a certain pain reliever that works for you where the others don't, say for a headache. Excedrin is so expensive but I swear by it, it works almost every time even when other pills with the same ingredients listed do nothing. I don't know why.

If something works for you, you should stick to it.   I use Tylenol Migraine myself.

Excedrin works really well but I have to be careful with it. Too much caffeine in them causing the rebound effect for me. Tylenol works good for me as well.

I use Percogesic.  It's hard to find and only places like Walgreens carries it but it's like a cure-all.  It does all kinds of pain, not just headaches, it's great for colds and for women, menstrual cramps.

I like to use DauQuil. I suffer from allergies and headaches, so it helps.

the doctor put me on Sumatriptan --i haven't noticed much help with them but this is the first doctor to give me something other than ibuprofen --which upsets my stomach so bad

Aspirin and Aleve do absolutely nothing for me.  Tylenol works marginally.  Advil is my go to.  Works like a charm.

Interesting, I don't think I've ever even heard of it but I'm tempted to check that out next time I'm at the store!

Excedrin is the one my Mom uses and it's the only one that works for her, nothing else.

I would stick to Tylenol or Advil (candy-coated ibuprofen).

BC powders always worked for me but I developed some issues and was told not to take those as they are terrible for the stomach, colon etc.  Tylenol never did work for me.  I occasionally take ibuprofen when my headaches get really bad.
