It's National M&M Day -- Oct. 13

Everybody knows this famous candy, but you probably didn't know it had its own national day!  Well, neither did I.

I am a devoted fan of M&Ms (have often referred to them as "the breakfast of champions" as they kickstart many a day for me).  There are many interesting facts about M&Ms.  Did you know there were no blue M&Ms until 1995?

Here's a couple of tidbits I found about M&Ms:

"In 1941 two men patented M & M candies. Forest Mars and Bruce Murrie were the two Ms in the candy name."

And:  "The enterprise was a rousing success, and in 1954, peanut M & Ms were developed—an ironic innovation, since Forest Mars was deathly allergic to peanuts. In this same year, the company trademarked the familiar "Melts in Your Mouth, Not in Your Hand" slogan."

I love M & M's the candy taste too good not to eat! I love peanut M & M's, plan M & M's, the holiday M & M's, I just love M & M's!

I didn't know there was a National M&M day either.  Now it all makes sense why Kroger had a bag of M&M's as there Free Friday download.  I had the download...didn't pick up my bag until last night and they are still sitting in a cabinet now.  Love me some peanut M&M's and diet coke.  It's the only time I'll drink diet coke?  don't know what it is about the two that go hand in hand for me.

M+Ms are probably my favourite candy ever.  I always pick up the limited edition funky flavours when I make a trip to the USA.

Shucks!   I missed National M&M Day on October 13.  I guess I need to make up for that by getting some M&M's today....I love Almond M&Ms and Peanut Butter M&Ms.

we had pretzels for Oktoberfest.
there is a pretzel day October 26th.
I love the thick pretzels.
I haven't had one in years and now i can have one twice this month.

Ralphs/Krogers had their Friday Freebie a package of M&M's....  I picked up the one's with peanuts, was planning to save them, but I ended up eating them, don't usually eat such things, but I hadn't had them in years.  They were delicious!   Great M&M's Day!
