I graduated from High school and moved to North Dakota were I had three jobs, but I had to quit two because of medical reasons such as the chemicals we were working with they hurt my lungs so I had a hard time breathing and then I found out I was pregnant I found a good job after wards it was inserting ads into newspaper but due to budget cuts and the economy they had to terminate the inserter. So I moved back to California were my parents are living and I was getting help from them but due to the economy I couldn't find a job and then my parents seperated so we went to live with my mother in law. She is such a wonderful person but I feel horrible I cant find a job she is working three jobs to keep food on the table and a roof over our head. Sometimes I don't eat because I feel so guilty. Here the neighbors get offended if someone sets up a yard sell so I can't do that, I have an eight old month baby boy who I can't afford to buy clothes and I can't afford to give him anything I feel pathetic!

I feel bad and depressed what about the people who graduate after me? Are they goign to go through the same thing?

This is how broke I am, can't afford anything free loathing and I hate myself for it.

im trying to potty train my son so we can save money instead of buying diapers and trying to cut back on eating out.  asking family for handy down clothes for our son.  shopping at second handed stores for the whole family. turning off all the eletricity, like unplugging the tv and phones when not using them.

I'm not well-to-do, but I have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food in my belly and a job. So I can't complain now, can I?  :confused1:

Well I can't stand to read these posts and one thing I am very confused about is people are poor and have it really bad and can't support their kids without the government's help but yet they still have kids. There is something very wrong with this picture. I will never feel bad when you are talking all this stuff and got 3 kids and another on the way.

It's like those blacks in africa having baby after baby after baby and watching them starve to death and asking for money to go to school and for food from americans with those commercials.

I need to take care of myself. I guess I am educated like that.

I think the economy is getting worse and it's really sad.

Oh, we have to cut back on how much we go out to eat - all I can say is that is why you are in the boat you are in, in the first place.

You seem like an angry person. In other posts I have read of your you are always putting others down. Many of the people already had their children long before the economy bottomed out. Threads like these are a place for members to vent, but you should not criticize them for their shortcomings.

People need to spend money wisely

I agree that this society has been very "loose" with their spending habits and we all need to take a step back and create new family budgets. However, the economy has been great for most for sometime and those people are not used to budgets and cut backs. We are a spoiled country and almost always have been. It will take some time to repair and heal but we will prevail.

I don't mean to sound crude or judgemental, but I really think you should seek counseling to find out why you are such an angry person. They can help to determine the cause for your constant need to belittle others and help you to fix the problems (if any.) We live in a country with the freedom of speech, but you should learn to control your anger against total strangers. In fact one could assume you are racist because of the African comments.

People in this country are really hurting. A shoulder to cry on means more than a hot meal at times. If that shoulder is a total strangers, then so be it. Just stop raining on everyones parade.

One thing you should consider is that circumstances change.....people leave marriages, people die, people lose jobs. Life happens. I know in my case, when I had four children, I was married and my husband worked two very good jobs while I stayed home with the kids. We didnt plan for me to get sick and have to have heart surgery. We didnt plan to get divorced. Unfortunately the kids got caught in the middle and I'm doing the best I can for them.

In my sisters case, she and her husband have five children under the age of 12. The baby is only 2 months old. Her husband just lost his job. She has always been a stay home mom. That's another case where at the time they had the children, they could afford everything.

Neither one of us regret any of our kids of course, but we sure regret the circumstances we find ourselves in now.

People change. Jobs change. Stuff breaks. Save some money, then have to break the bank for a repair or a medical bill. Life happens, just gotta strap on a seatbelt and hang on tight because it's a bumpy ride.

I wish I could sell blood plasma, but I don't think there are any places here that buy it--there are Red Cross blood drives and that sort of thing fairly regularly, but I don't want to part with my blood unless I'm getting paid for it. >_<

I'm really trying to save, though, walking around campus instead of driving, and trying to do my errands all at once to save gas, and to get as much free or cheap as I can. I almost never eat out, and I include cheap fast food in that; it seriously adds up, and it costs a lot more than leftovers or whatever from home. Getting stuff free is always good, too--for instance, I earned $20 in Subway cards from submitting codes to mycokerewards.com.
