Myself, my husband and our 6 year old granddaughter took turns with eclipse glasses watching it off and on.  I'd go outside about every 20 minutes or so to look.  We were all three pretty awed by it.  Wish we had been where the total eclipse happened but it was pretty awesome here.

Like most people, I listened to Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart during the eclipse. :D

We drove to Wyoming from California to see it at 100%. It was definitely worth the trip.  I was amazed how the temperature dropped when it was at full coverage, the bullfrogs, crickets and secadas all went crazy. It was well worth the trip.  We were going to Idaho, but heard how bad the traffic was, roads were closed, shortages of gasoline....so we went into Wyoming on a tiny little highway an had the adventure of a lifetime.  Got some great pictures with our phone camera and also a real camera.  Will post some later on.

So, I’m out in VA, not near the totality but 81percent wasn’t bad.  The problem was you couldn’t see anything.  We wound up with a thunderstorm here in Woodbridge.  I just wanted it on my phone via WUSA app and saw the totality live as it happened out in Oregon.  Nothing beat that anyway.  Yes, I wanted to see it with my own eyes in person but I was not about to go outside and risk pneumonia for something unviewable.  I mean it wasn’t like it was a drizzle or anything.  No, this was a full thunderstorm with lightning and it lasted a good two hours.  On the other hand, watching the totality as it happened on my phone was pretty neat so I wasn’t too disappointed.

My son's cub scout group arranged to have an Eclipse get-together. We had glasses for everyone. It was really spectacular. It's so awesome to see these young kids get excited by something like this. It's like a science fiction movie come to life.

I love watching the eclipse. Glad work let everybody go outside to watch it. Was a neat thing to see, since it doesn't happen that often!  :moon:
