ECLIPSE
« on: August 21, 2017, 12:51:34 pm »
Who watched the eclipse? I must say I wish I had gotten me a pair of glasses. I did watch on the TV and what I saw was so amazing. Would have liked to be outdoors.

I didn't watch it. I just noticed how it got darker over here. I forgot about the eclipse at first and thought it was darker because a storm was coming.

I didn't get a chance to watch it from the beginning to end, but i saw it as it was happening and a friend of mines took a good picture of it. I also posted it on here for anyone whom want to see it

I watched it on tv, I kept telling myself why are people getting so excited about the eclipse for the past several weeks, but now that I saw it on tv I wish I would of spent time to go somewhere to see it

I had to laugh as I used to live in Casper Wyoming, and that was one of the hot spots, even people from Michigan flocked there

I was at work but I borrowed a pair of the eclipse glasses and went outside for a quick peek. Very exciting

I wasn't excited about it until I saw a coworker go outside and look. So I asked to use his glasses. The eclipse had just started. Then I got excited about it.

So when two other coworkers went outside to view it later on, I tagged along to get another glimpse. It was pretty darn neat!

Unfortunately here in Michigan we didn't get to see the eclipse. We didn't even get to see a partial eclipse!! Me and my family waited a whole week for this event (since finding out about it) just to be disappointed. We were all out in the backyard in our lawn chairs just waiting...

Why didn't these fools tell us only PART of America will see it!!??? They acted like all of us would witness it, nope!! This is just more confirmation that I need to move from this state.

I watched it! It was very cool! I thought I was going to miss it because I had a doctors apt at 2:30 and the time for the totality was 2:27 where I live but when I got to the docs they said they were closed until the eclipse was over. I had brought my glasses with me so I got to walk outside and watch.

Only partial eclipse here but still pretty cool.  Tried to take a photo using my phone (using the glasses as filter) but it didn't come out well.

I had an eye appointment during the eclipse!  I headed to my appointment noting how much cooler it was outside while the moon was covering up the sun.  We only got a partial (about 75%) of the total eclipse here in Texas, but I saw the full eclipse on a Twitter feed from Oregon!  I didn't take a peek at it outside since I had no NASA-approved eclipse glasses nor No. 14 Arc Welder Glass :glasses-nerdy: -- I was intent on getting my lenses prescription filled instead.  There must have been ten or more eclipse watching parties in the area from college campuses to Planetariums, museums and libraries.  Many were offering eclipse glasses and/or use of the solar telescope.  This appeared to be a very popular event everywhere.
