Are You Ready for the Solar eclipse Across USA?
« on: August 08, 2017, 07:34:44 pm »
What are your plans, would love to read yours. Here, I heard on the news that some businesses are overbooked because of software they are using...etc. Was viewing on my TV that the Science channel will be following the eclipse across USA, LIVE, so no need to get hysterical. My tv's network is Comcast channel 272 show starting noon time 8/21/17, so check out the science channel program which must be on other areas but before August 21, 2017.

Looking forward to seeing it. I will be home all day so hopefully I will be able to see it from my backyard! Lol.

I live in middle Tennessee and only have to drive up the road about 26 miles and I will able to see the total eclipse.  I have seen a partial eclipse back in the early 70's.  I hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

I plan to see it if possible where I live.  Lots of trees in our area.  Our daughter bought some special glasses to watch it with and she gave me one.  Guess my husband and I can pass it back and forth so we'll both be able to see it.

Oh...I forgot, thanks for the reminder. Hopefully there won't be an overcast in my area.

We're getting partial but really close to an area for a full eclipse.  We're retired so we're trying to decide if we should drive where we can see the full eclipse.   Got the glasses.   I did read today that some companies are selling glasses that are not the required strength.   If you have them or plan on getting them, they are advising trying them on before the eclipse.  You should only be able to see the sun if they are correct.    We checked ours and wow, can't see anything other than the sun.

I have seen one or two before, so it's not that big of a deal for me.

I happened to r/o of work that day for my husbands birthday.  He's pretty excited about this eclipse.  I think it'll be fun to experience.  I'm glad I'm going to have the flexibility that day to be outside ... or at least look through windows to see how it evolves.  I heard it's going to be dark for 2 hours. It's kinda crazy the way people are acting.  Hubby was actually given a pair of eclipse cardboard glasses.
