trees

my neighbor had a beautiful view of some trees from his apartment window.
the landscaping company or some such "outfit" came along and chopped them down, so he could see the buildings across the alley.

Since he lives in an apartment anything is fair game maybe the owners didn't want to be liable if the trees fell on someone or the property.  I have a house and I'm cutting down or topping all of these trees because during a storm I don't want them to keep hitting the house and destroying things.  I had to replace the heat pump and gutters because of trees falling.

Yeah, my neighbors tried to pressure me to cut down my trees when I first moved into the neighborhood. I have no idea why. Just busybodies who wanted a better view of my house so they could spy on me, I guess. (That's really all I came up with.)

I was actually expecting to come home from work one day to my trees cut down, but they respected my wishes.

I love trees,,,,,,,,,,,,   but we had 7 large Pine trees that was between my house and the neighbors.  We finally had them cut down.  the Cost was over $3000.00    But I'm glad we did it I would have felt terrible if one of them had fallen in to the neighbors home or mine !!!!   those trees were over 80 years old.

I'm also a tree lover. One of the coolest things I've ever seen was 55 acres of virgin forest in southern Ohio. It did not resemble what people think of when they think of the woods. Massive trees with virtually no undergrowth. even my dog seemed in awe.

I've watched huge branches come down in storms,  last summer one landed on my plastic lawn chair and blew it to pieces that flew 30 plus feets from the chair.

We have a lot of trees/wooded area facing our patio;  in the summer that is really great great because we seldom have to turn on the air conditioner; but on the other hand not good for my house plants since it is hard to get sunlight; and since we live in a condo the homeowner association is responsible for them, we also get the deers  certain time of the year; but i have adjusted to all the trees they are beautiful not great for my allegries but I still like them.

We had to cut down our large maple tree a few years ago.  Many years ago the top 1/3 of it was taken off by strong winds.  It regrew and was taller than our two-story house.  Sadly, the main trunk got a split in it which could have ended up splitting in two and falling on our house.

That is one thing I like about living in the country is all of the trees that surround my house.  We have underground power lines so we don't have to worry about power outages from falling limbs.
Have a wonderful day!

My city hasn't been taking care of the trees in the neighborhood & people have been chopping down their trees on the city parkview with no recourse from the city.

Trees help prevent climate change, help stop winds, give us Oxygen, give shade... so many positive benefits & people just are so selfish to chop them down.

I saw pictures of Afghanistan, back in the day,  & it was filled with trees, they chopped them down for fuel/fires & now the land is a barren waste...  people need to plant more trees in the world.

Sorry to hear that, would much rather see the trees than buildings if I had a choice.

I want to plant   a few more trees outside on the west side the sun is just brutal in the summer. hopefully I have hubby  convinced it would be a good idea.  When we moved here we had a beautiful spruce in the front, but  it was one of the trees that I am allergic to too and it had to be cut down, besides it would  weep sap in the summer and would be all over the  porch.  Now I want a couple of  fruitless mulberry and maybe a birch or an oak it depends. The the front of the house would really be shaded and cool.
