We do not use the oven in the summer either, we have a toaster oven we take to the porch to do casserole for  meals.

I love all kinds of casseroles. Some are easy to make while others are a little more difficult to make, but well worth the effort when you sit down to eat it. :)

Casseroles or "hotdish" recipces are family favorites.

We have one the kids call "Daddy's Favorite Hotdish"  It was a favorite of his that his mom made when he was growing up.  I think it is really called Russian Chow Mein.

In Minnesota it's called a Hot Dish  for what ever reason i have not a clue. But the whole state is goofy about these type dinners, And  "Tater Tot Hot Dish" is a Minnesota house hold word.

living alone, I don't often make casseroles.

Advantage, of course, is left-overs in freezer.

I love to make casseroles and crockpot meals. It's easier for me. ;)
