Are you a AARP member, if so,  what benefits have you used? So far the only
discount I used was at Outback steakhouse, I received  $4.00 or $5.00 off my bill.

I was able to join for those coupons, I love coupons, I like their advice. But, I am to young for some benefits, rats! AARP has booths at festivals. Enjoy.

I always forget about their discounts/coupons!  Last time we were shopping for a mattress at Sleepy's, the salesman asked if we belonged to AARP and he gave us a discount.

We use our AARP discount every Saturday night at Denny's. It usually saves us between $4-$5 per check.

I am a member and I like the idea of discounts but I just don't use them because as a senior citizen, I get a larger discount.

Not a member of AARP. I actually dreaded getting those membership offers in the mail. How dare they send them to me....rofl.

I purchased an AARP membership for my mother, however, she does not actively take advantage of the benefits offered to her. Sometimes, during the times I have off (which is very rare), I try and research how she can maximize their savings.

I was a member for three years and either forgot to use most discounts or they were not relevant to me at the time.  I decided to give up the membership after the three years because it was just $16 I could use elsewhere.  Frankly, I don't miss it!  Will I join again?  I really don't know.  I guess it just remains to be seen.

I learned from a friend several years ago that AARP has an associate membership for people under 50 and she was bragging on her discounts so I checked into it, but for me, it would mean spending $12 or $13 for a membership and then spending more money at places I never go to, just to get a little discount so I didn't see it as worth it.
