I get those phone calls, even on my cell phone.   Mine tells me if I don't call back and arrest warrant would be issued.  Never call them back and the police haven't knocked on my door yet.   Husband gets them too on his cell.   I wouldn't call them back even though it's tempting.   I'm going to get me a whistle and next time they call I'll answer and blow as  hard as I can into my whistle.

My mom use to have a cow dog toy that really sounded real, she always had that on her coffee table to play for them sorts of calls.  She's been gone for 10 years but I still laugh at some of the things she did.

Your Mom sounds like a woman with an incredible personality.  I don't like scam calls but I just hang up.
Have a great day!

When I get those kinds of calls they just go to voice mail. I don't even answer the phone.

You would receive something in the mail if it was in fact the IRS

A lot of people have been getting these calls or texts.  The IRS doesn't call people, this is just a scram.  I don't know why people have to do these things.

No.  If you return the call they know they have a working line.  If they leave messages they do not know they are really getting anybody and eventually they will stop.  They called me about 4 times.  Each time more irritated when she left a message.  YOU NEED TO RETURN MY CALL AND LET ME HELP YOU.  Uh stupid wench you need to stop calling my phone number because I do not owe any money to the IRS.  And, they do not call you on the phone, And, they do not accept green dot cards for payment nor do they accept i-tunes cards for payment. And I could go on and on.  I started to talk to them but didn't want to fool with it.  If they actually talk to you they will drive you in sane calling your phone number all hours of the day and night.  Personally, I feel these idiots should be taken out and shot at high noon.

lol.  They had already issued a warrant for my arrest.  The local police were coming to get me.  Yay, hurry so I make it to jail before supper is over. lol  And I use to set off a 110 dec. alarm in the phone.

Me ether.  I usually block them immediately.  I got one earlier this evening and forgot to block it and they called back in a couple of hours.  I blocked it then.

A lot of people have been getting these calls or texts.  The IRS doesn't call people, this is just a scram.  I don't know why people have to do these things.

Because they make an awesome living.  You would not believe the number of people who fall for this.  And once they get the money off the green dot card or the money off the itunes card you cannot get it back.  And if people did not fall for it they would not keep doing it.  And people are so stupid they just freak out and give the idiot the info.

Someone called our office a long time ago wanting to do something with our copy machine because we had a warranty with them (uh-huh) then gets really mad at me when I won't tell her what kind of copy machine we have.  I said well if we have a warranty with you and you are looking at it then you should know what kind of copy machine I have.  She got really mad at me.  That was years ago.  I was nicer then.  Years of idiots have ruined me.  I would probably be more hostile if I spoke with her today.

The better thing to do is to act all scared and concerned and keep them on the phone for a really long time and waste their time and THEN be like NOPE. haha  I had a friend that kept one IRS dude tied up for days.  He said oh I called you back and gave you the green dot numbers.  He was so upset.  He kept saying you must have dialed the wrong number.  My friend was like no I talked to you.  lol  He was all freaked out.

I just hang up without saying anything.  It is tempting to speak to the caller, but that just opens the door for them to call back...as others have mentioned.

It is aggravating to receive these calls and wish there was a way to stop them.......the callers must get some people tricked into paying them or they wouldn't keep trying.
