grocery store chains

The bounaries covered by a certain chain is interesting.
I thought Publix was just in Florida.
There are stores in Tennessee too.
Some of these stores fade out and merge with other chains.
I guess one factor is where their headquarters is located.

We have Publix here where I live, and it's very expensive than any other grocery store chain.

   Like any other business: Grocery stores chains will remain open as long as those stores are doing well. The company starts closing stores that are not profitable.
