New House
« on: July 07, 2017, 07:58:54 am »
My two grown sons and I are going in on a new house.  I can't live out here in the country anymore in the house I bought from my mom when she died.  The yard is uneven and due to my mobility issues I have fallen several times.  The house was built in the early 80's and needs a lot of work.  The new house is in a neighborhood which will be an adjustment but has sidewalks throughout & the builder is going to make it so I can get in the house easier.  I could do a lot of this here but it is also time for a new fresh start - my mom and my hubby passed away here. Time to try and start new.

you're smart not to wait too much longer, given the fact that you have fallen.
It's wise to go where you'll have support and safety.
some people wait too long and have a major accident that changes everything.

We are selling our house to raise the down payment on a bigger one we are going in on with our youngest son, his wife and two little girls. We will then have no house payment and lower expenses we can easily pay on Social Security and he gets a big house he couldn't raise that much down payment for. We will have one entire floor with separate kitchen, laundry, bathroom and two bedrooms.

That's smart! Wish you well on your new house with your family. It will be nice to be close to them. :)

I know about mobility issues in a wheelchair most of the time. I have HSP a rare  disease that causes weakness in your legs. Bought a house with no stairs .We bought about 8yrs ago and didn't even think about my walking issues then, was using a cane. Funny how life sometimes works out.Good luck

Good for you.  We bought our one level house years ago and now my mom is with us and it's easy to move her around in the wheelchair.
