Charcoal or propane ?
« on: July 01, 2017, 05:20:43 am »
Being we are in the midst of summer, a lot of us like to get the grill going. Some have different preferences on what to use to cook. I like to use propane myself. I like the smell of charcoal but when it comes to cooking, I use propane. :)

We use our gas grill unless we are camping.  Then we use charcoal.  The gas grill is more convenient and much quicker.

I prefer the taste of food cooked over charcoal personally but like either one when it comes right down to it.  We don't have a grill of either kind any more.  My husband used to grill but since he passed away and our charcoal grill took a nose dive no one here grills anymore.  Which is too bad because I love the taste of grilled food especially bbq chicken.

We use Propane as it is easier but I hate when my husband doesn't get the spare tank filled.  Ran out many of times and had to finish dinner indoors.

Taste the meat, not the heat. I'm indifferent between the two. They both make good food.

I love charcoal for flavor but propane for ease of cooking. So basically either is fine for me.

Charcoal seems to be a lot of work so I have gone to propane.  If I had more time I would dabble with the charcoal grill.

Charcoal is better for flavor; propane is better for speed.  We bought a new grill two years ago and it has both options in separate grill bays. We've used it at least 75 to 100 times and have YET to use the charcoal side because it is mostly used to do dinner during the week or on a weekend when we have many other errands to run.  (That might change today).
