Typing speed
« on: June 29, 2017, 03:15:27 pm »
How fast can you type? I have not been timed in a long
time, but I do type fast. There was a girl I went to medical
billing school with that could type 200 words a minute. She
always finished our typing assignments before the class did.

I cannot type no where near close to her number.

I am not the fastest typist by any stretch of the imagination but I have totally improved since starting the fusioncash posting over seven years ago (plus I took more office positions in that seven years. I still watch my fingers as I type but my accuracy has improves to the point where I only need to do one or two corrections on any ten projects that I happen to be working on. If I had to venture a guess I would put my typing speed at about ninety words per minute. I usually file two to three reports per day, with near perfect accuracy, and have managed to cut my report completion time down considerably. I am a baby boomer so I am quite proud of my typing skills (other than having to watch my fingers) compared to a lot of the subsequent generations.

I have no idea but I do tech support and callers seem to be impressed on how fast I type.

I haven't done a test to get my time recently but I know I'm much slower now than I used to be when I was continuously having to type papers for school. I'm still fairly fast and accurate but it's not the same when I'm not using the skill as much.

Wow, she is a fast typist, but I haven't been timed in long time either, but I can do pretty well.

I was a business major in high school so I am a decent typist.  Have not been timed in a long long time but I can hold my own .. being on my computer a lot helps my speed.

I have never timed myself nor do I type in a proper manner so I wouldn't really know.

Mine is just mediocre. I never tried hard enough to perfect it, so I'm around  25 wpm. :-[

I was charted at typing maybe 80 wpm during my high school days, but I'm sure I have slowed far more since then. I think at the very least I less prone to mistypes.

I haven't been timed since I took typing back in school, though I was pretty fast then. Nowadays, I know I'm much slower, since I text so much with just my thumbs, and when the "keyboard" comes up on my iPad I don't type like I would on a regular keyboard.
