Do you still have a lot of close friends today that you actually hang out with?

Unfortunately my closet friend moved in 2012 after she got married. Then the next year I left the state. We're still friends on facebook and talk over the phone. Her husband is in the military so there's a possibility she may be moving to where I am.

Not really although with guys it isn't really hard to visit old friends at any point and pick up the friendship from right where we were the last time we had seen each other. I plan on stopping off to visit a friend in August and will have his Birthday present with me (his birthday is in May). I have another friend that I will invite to join me on a pontoon boat in a Wisconsin Lake next month-I have not seen this friend in four years. Another friend visited me two weeks ago and we hadn't seen each other in twelve years. Unfortunately he stayed for nine days which got old pretty quick. Someone told me that friends are like fish-they are only good to have around for about three days. Another friend that I have not seen for four years called and asked me to drive four hours to get his son, drive four hours back and drop him at the airport-I did it without hesitation.

We do have a few friends that we get together with but not often. Mostly do things with children and grandchildren.

I don't. Sometimes people try to be nice and friendly, but they have a hidden agenda, so I have my guard up.

I don't. It is hard to make friends when you are older and have children.  It is hard to find the time to hang out especially if you are single and the other person has a spouse too.

I have never had close friends.  I learned years ago that people are not to be trusted.  I have associates, but not close friends.

No because we live in different states, but we do see each other from time to time and keep in contact via phone; also travel together sometimes.

Not necessarily. I never held anyone in the regard as a "close" friend. I would prefer to call them acquaintances.

No but  we do keep in touch thru Facebook.  Most of us are more than a couple of hours away since we all got married

As I get older and try to make friends, I find that people in general cling to the friends and activities they're already involved in.  It's quite disappointing.

My friends today are the ladies I "dance" with every Tuesday evening.  Friends from school I used to hang out with back in the day are long gone.  we say Hello in passing anymore.    I go to the gym twice a week and have some new friends there ,,,  we talk as we are exercising together.  But I don't hand out with anyone anymore.  I'm a home body LOL

My friends have either passed away or faded away.  And I am partly to blame for the latter.
