spelling errors

while some people might say "don't make a fuss about spelling errors,"
it does make a difference.
I was doing the Jumble Sunday puzzle in the newspaper online.
Whoever put that one together used the wrong word [a verb] at the end of the clue.
It has a definite effect on the answer.
When I gave up and saw the answer, it didn't make sense.

People these days don't take the time to double check their spelling because of something called auto correct. It has made people lazy about it.

It drives me crazy to misspell a word or use incorrect punctuation!

I don't mind spelling mistakes in conversation with friends/family and informal stuff, it can be funny when auto-correct make some interesting changes

However I expect no misspellings in formal situations.  It just so unprofessional.

Fingernails on the blackboard with misspelled words, especially in the newspapers. They should know better. Every day, our local paper has corrections for wrong dates, wrong names, wrong spelling, yet it keeps happening. I am guilty of sometimes misspelling a word but I have trouble seeing and an lower case "i" looks like the capital "I," "rn" looks like "m," "5" for "s,". etc.  Frustrating.

I think there are cases when some are sadly illiterate thru no fault of their own.And yes some are lazy and i even admit i am.

Many are mean to correct others on this issue.They have the bigger problem then the one who misspells.

Don't get me started on this!!!  Newspapers are the LAST place where things should be misspelled.  But they are so common in our local paper that I've often wondered if they are professionals or students writing the articles! 


And bringing it full circle, the FC cartoon guy has even had a few misspellings of his own on occasion.  Just a few weeks ago, there was a comic about famous biographies. One was of "Mother Theresa".  While this is the most common spelling of that name; a simple fact check would disclose that she went by Mother TERESA.

It can make a difference. It always drives me nuts seeing people use their instead of there or they're as if they didn't know the difference.

I have trouble with my spelling once in a while and to me it still looks fine, but then I am Dislexia and am forever getting letters and words mixed up.  spelling is so hard for  those of us  that have it, so just because we miss words, or mix up numbers  does not mean that we are lazy or  dumb. That is foolish thinking.

I like words and I like them to spelled correctly.  However, I don't go around correcting the grammatical and spelling indiscretions of others.  I try to be tolerant.

Maybe its my typing skills but i always have to go back and check spelling. Especially if i go to fast.

Yeah, it really bothers me. Especially with everything being electronic and having spell check!! Don't even get me started on "text speak."
