Alkaline Water
« on: May 11, 2017, 01:51:12 pm »
I've heard a lot of people talk about how healthy it is to drink Alkaline water.  Sure, we need to hydrate and ideally we would balance out our body chemistry so our system isn't overly acidic.

As I've studied and taken time to learn about health and nutrition I understand that certain foods are considered alkaline.

Most fresh produce will balance out our body chemistry with the exception of plums and asparagus.

If you choose to juice fresh lemon and add it to your water - You have an alkaline drink.

If you juice fresh produce like carrots, apples and kale - You have a very nutritious alkaline drink.

Have you ever bought alkaline water?

It can be a little bit pricey so it's nice to know how to make your own.
Have a great day!

I drink water with lemon every day, including when I eat out.

I never buy it. I'm too poor for that stuff. :-[

Buying bottled water seems like highway robbery to me, although I like to have bottled water handy for car trips and hikes.

I've heard that most bottled water is just tap water anyway.  :silly:

I haven't bought alkaline water.  I do enjoy adding lemon to my water.   I ask for lemon slices when I am eating out
because I don't like the taste of the restaurant's water; plus buying any drink at restaurant is extra expense that I deem not worth it.

My mother bought a bottle once. I noticed no difference in its taste or my health so I don't see much point in paying extra for fancy water.

I have a cousin that makes his own alkaline water and kombucha which he swears by. I know it's true that are bodies are often very acidic, so I see that need to neutralize ph levels in the body. I just drink a lot of water period. I know I'm flushing some toxins from the insides every time I'm drinking some.

Never really heard of it before, but I do drink flavored Seltzer and sparkling waters.

There are drops you can put in your water to raise the the alkalinity of the water, which raises your PH. I have read a lot about the benefits of raising your PH, the most important one is the cancer benefits. If you raise your PH to 7.25 you alkaline your body. Cancer cannot survive in a alkaline system. It is what many people that have cancer and want to do alternative options versus conventional Chemo and Radiation do. At least it is a small step along with other things that they do.
