cool as a cucumber

cucumbers have nutritional benefits.
when I was a girl, we had a neighbor who put them on her eyes as she lied down in the sun.
they soothe puffy eyes.
there is a saying  " cool as a cucumber"
they do feel very cool.
it can also pertain to staying calm, cool and collected; don't lose your temper or get angry.

i like cucumbers but they don't like me ---my daughter on the other hand love them and eats them all the time ! i will put some in a salad but they really bother my stomach for some unknown reason

Have you tried removing the seeds by cutting the long way and scooping them out with a spoon? Or tried the hot house cukes ?  there is a huge difference !

Cucumbers are one of my favorite vegetables.  They are of silicon.  Silicon is a "beauty" mineral/nutrient because it contributes to the health and appearance of a person's skin and hair.  If you want to look younger and healthier - consume vegetables like cucumbers and bell peppers for the silicon.
