I was watching a show on History channel once that was talking about Germany in the 1920's. They interviewed this man who said he had paid 1 million marks for a sausage and bread. Germany had a huge debt and was printing money, sort of like the US has been doing for decades. I hope this never happens to us, but the signs of inflation is beginning to rear its ugly head.

I usually get some coupons before going to stores and I also use those apps like flipp or ebates where you can know who has the lowest deals and can also get some cash back

Yes I have noticed the same up in prices but it is always some excuse.  In the past they anticipated a raise in prices due to something that didn't even end up happening but they still raised the prices - it is just a scam I believe but we have to eat.  The scary thing also is all the recalls there is no quality any more and it costs more at that - it is what my granny called adding insult to injury.

Yes, every time we went to a store cost are always up especially here in a tourist place.

I have an Aldi right next door to me and shop there all the time now.  their prices are pretty cheap, especially the produce but not as cheap as they used to be.

Food cost will always increase more people made more people got to eat.

Prices goes up as expected of inflation, but as to consumer goods, it goes up and down as well throughout the season as well. I try to not fret about it. If something really goes up, I try to look for a substitute and that goes for lettuce.

Yes, the price of food is getting higher all the time. I save money by checking the store's circular to see what's on sale, linking my store card to their online savings site, using the site Ibotta for cash back on select items, and of course I also use regular paper coupons.

  I am right there with you.  I also secret shop and do a lot of my grocery shopping that way, which makes it free to me.   I am amazed at how much milk as gone up.

Yes, food costs is going up that's why I feel so lucky to live in my state because we have doller stores. I get frozen vegetables & meat, eggs @lower prices. Eggs $1.50-3, I pay $1, frozen veges $1.80-3, I pay $1, snacks chips $2.50+ I pay $1. I wish every state could have a dollar store!

Whoa!  I noticed this past Saturday the price increase on the lettuce...the bags went up .50 more (and that was the "on sale this week" price) and regular head of lettuce (usually $1.29 to 1.49 here) was close to $3...I was in disbelief.   I REALLY wanted lettuce but did NOT really want to pay that....  so I left it. 

Then I found this topic in the FC forum, so that explains it...

Get used to it, everything goes up and has been forever and it's not going to stop. I still remember my mom complaining because she had to pay a quarter for a loaf of bread when it used to be a nickel. Now for the good bread it's FIVE BUCKS.

I love to get my produce from the farmers markets around me. Its so much cheaper!
But yeah there's a drought and  it's hurting romaine and iceberg. I work at a salad bar and we are using other greens because the price went up

Food prices are out of control! It's pricey to eat healthy anymore.
