I don't buy organic at all, it's too expensive for me.  For healthy eating, I focus more on low sugar/fat and healthier carbs.

I am switching to organic gradually. mainly because of expenses. you also have to watch the labels and nutritional info. some say they are organic and there isn't any major difference except price. it can be very confusing. :rose: :peace:

My husband feels that organic foods are just not worth the extra priced charged for them so we almost never buy organic stuff. (He is the food shopper in our family). He does buy incredibly fresh and beautiful veggies and fruits at a Farmer's Market, however, so I can't complain.

I am reading everyone's comments and understand the economical point of view but isn't your health worth the extra few cents or few dollars? I thought I could not afford it either but I see it as an extra investment in my health after losing 90 plus lbs. As I am learning more and more about conventional farming vs. Organic farming, it's frightening what chemicals are harming us and causing diseases. Visit a local farmers market, read nutritional labels. No GMO is good for you. Nothing processed is healthy and dyes such as Red 40 or Yellow 5 is harmful and so toxic for children or anyone with ADHD like my son. I revamped his diet and he now reads labels because he wants to get off medication one day. He is only 10! Google "The Dirty Dozen" and you will read about how wonderful synthetic pesticides, herbicides, etc. are toxic for us. Being aware and learning about what it can do to us and our children is frightening! Why I waited 40 years to eat healthier and read labels is something to the unknown unconscious mind! Try it for a week and see how you feel. :)

there are some online farms that sell organic items.
Their prices aren't as high.
kariba farms
sun organic farms
are two I found.
I used to buy from Azure Standard out in Washington state.

Organic is not within my budget range. I rather buy homegrown produce from farmer's markets because it's cheaper and it's still nice to meet the families that homegrow their produce. It's nice to see.

Is too expensive!  The supermarkets need to lower their prices on organic products.
