Shout Out!!
« on: April 28, 2017, 04:43:13 am »
Just wanted to share some good news.
My mom's scan shows she is cancer free!!!!

She went through chemo, then external radiation and finished her internal radiation.

Praise God!

That is fantastic news! Congratulations to you and your mom! My wife has been in remission, from breast cancer, for over eleven years. If she had gone through that today I think we would have to face bankruptcy given the current health care programs. Eleven years ago every part of her cancer treatment was covered at no cost to us. The insurance company questioned a hypodermic needle needed to administer pain and nausea medication but after explaining that there was no other way to get it into her system the question was answered. Same thing with the birth of our children. No cost on the first and we actually received a check for fifty dollars after having the second one (not sure what that was for). Today it would cost us a $1,500.00 deductible.

Oh wow! Great news!  How strong you and your mom are.  :highfive:   :highfive:

Hopefully, there will never be another episode of that horrific disease and a cure will be found for all. I just celebrated 5 years free from sarcoma, but I lost friends from colon cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, cirrhosis, and just last week "blood" cancer.  My 'twin" cousin died at age 12 from glioblastoma after fighting for 5 years back in 1960.

Any time I hear someone has beaten the disease, I feel like celebrating.
