Landline phones
« on: April 06, 2017, 04:30:49 am »
Remember the days that we did not have mobile phones. If we had car trouble or
needed to make a call, we looked for payphones, which means we had to carry
coins at all times or stop at a store and ask for change in exchange for bills, lol.

Boy, do I remember!  I think cell phones are great but their advent has had an up side and a definitive down side.  One of the biggest down sides is people who are stupid enough to use them while driving.  Another major down side is how they have cut into social interaction. I don't want to give mine up for various reasons, but I know when to leave it alone.  Some people just seem unable to put theirs down!

Have a landline and a cell phone but hardly use it. What a smartphone but don't want to pay for one.Yes, when you were out and something came up where you had to call someone you waited to get home and call.

I mainly use magicjack so I can make phone calls through the internet. It's much less expensive than getting a traditional landline from a phone company.

I have a landline phone but only so others can buzz into my apartment. In other words, that phone doesn't have a number.

I still have a landline phone and a cell phone and I know a lot of people who still have a landline :) But I do remember the pay phones and having to memorize numbers and carrying loose change with me everywhere!

It is so crazy how much has changed in such a short period of time. It really makes you wonder what our norm will be a few years from now.
