peas
« on: April 05, 2017, 08:21:18 am »
my dad loves peas.
my mom thinks they are useless and have no nutritional value.
I read an article this morning on the importance of thiamine.
I searched the sources of thiamine.
Peas are on the list.

I love peas, in the pod, sugar snaps, snow peas,  love creamed peas and love split peas soup with smoked ham hock! Frozen peas in tuna salad, I'd be lost with out peas!

I love peas. Sometimes I'll make a concoction of potatoes, carrots and peas that tastes fabulous.

They're so good together and you're getting several helpings of veggies at the same time.

Not a fan of peas although I do love snow peas.   It's been this way since childhood.   When I was young my mom would fix canned peas and I hated them but in those days we had to clean our plates so I had to eat them.   There is a big difference in canned peas and fresh.

Other than snow peas... that I eat in salad & Chinese food, I haven't eaten regular peas in I can't remember when.  I don't know why.... they are delicious

I am planting snow peas this spring, and can't wait!

Just bought a bag of frozen peas the other day to throw in home made soup

So, I am on the side of peas  :)

Peas are ok, not my favorite but I will eat them.  I serve them often because my family all like them.  I do like fresh best, and always freeze a lot from my garden.

I don't like canned peas to me they are tasteless, but i do  like them fresh, frozen  or dry.  Then i put them in soups, salads. and  stir fry.  I grew up with them being fresh or frozen. My boys loved to go out into the garden with me and they would just  pop the shells and eat them that  way, in fact just about everything in the garden they would eat raw.

I just planted snow peas this week for the first time so will see how this works.  I usually get them off the salad bars because I'm including more vegetables in my diet.

I like peas with carrots or with mashed potatoes. I can't eat them by themselves.
