 Does anybody remember the old Woody Woodpecker cartoons? I wish I could find more old cartoons...much better than today's.

Yes I remember Woody the Woodpecker, and Popeye, and all of the old cartoons.  I have them on DVD now and watch them on Saturday mornings just like old time, just now it isn't at 6am that I am up to watch them, and they wait for me.. ;D

Some of the Dollar spots, (where everything is a dollar) have older cartoons like Woody Woodpecker, Betty Boop, old Superman, ect. on Dvd. I would look around at your local Dollar spots for them. Good Luck!!

Growing up, I had several VHS tapes of '6 Hours of Cartoons!' - chock-full of old-school Warner Bros., Disney, Popeye, Felix the Cat, and other cartoons. My brother and I would watch those endlessly. I've still got them - need to find a way to convert them to DVD!

Sometimes on TCM, in between movies, they play the really old Warner Brothers cartoons and others that were originally played in movie theaters. I've seen old Looney Tunes and some other really random obscure ones on there.

I agree that the older cartoons were much better. It's not because I was a kid then. I atill watch them today when I can. Perhaps if enough pwople requested it, Nickelodeon would run an oldies cartoon segment on ocassion.

I always loved Popeye cartoons. They're still awesome by todays standards-- some episodes were very progressive for their time too. Tom and Jerry still rock. Speed Racer was cool. If I think of others I'll post them.

I honestly think the best time for cartoons was the late-80's/early-90's though. Duck Tales, Tail Spin, Chip n' Dale, Batman TAS, Freakazoid, etc. etc. All amazing work.

Cartoons pretty much suck today. All crappy anime-styles with NO substance whatsoever. But once in a while there's a gem. The last good one I really enjoyed was Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends.

Woody Woodpecker, Batman TAS, Popeye, Pirates of Dark Water, Young Robin Hood, Duck Tails, Bucky-o-Hare, Blinky Bill, Titan A.E., Swat Kats, Sonic SatAM and others. Many of the old cartoons were great.

Avatar the Last Airbender was a decent cartoon made one or two years ago which shows people can still make them but they don't. Instead, they are making ones like Spongebob Squarepants, and Chowder.
