What do you think about Ellen Degeneres replacing Paula Abdual on American Idol?

I wouldn't really care, because I don't have a lot of patience for reality TV in general (I'll admit to watching the auditions because they're often hilarious, but otherwise not much), although it does strike me as odd since I didn't know Ellen had any musical background. Mostly though it makes me sad because the Fug Girls at Go Fug Yourself probably won't be able to talk about Paula as much anymore, and their posts about her are awfully hilarious.

I think its awesome. i would have rather seen kara go. cant stand her and i hate that song she wrote for the winner last yr. poor chris allen has to sing that stupid song and put it on his 1st album

I'm not a huge American Idol fan and I do like Ellen, but I don't see how they could choose her for this. I mean, she knows nothing about the music industry. It seems like they could have picked many, many others that would have been better suited. I'm sure she'll be entertaining, but she can't really be a good judge of these singers.

this is kinda sorta how i feel about it. i really like ellen in general,
i just don't know if american idol is the right scene for her.
