Saved Myself a repair bill
« on: February 17, 2017, 07:06:04 pm »
My 2 year old grandson loves to vacuum!  He has a toy vacuum but he loves my "big" one too.  He uses the crevice tool as his "leaf blower".

Anyway, he asked me to vacuum with him tonight so I got my vacuum and he got his.  Mine had a problem.  The beater bar roller brush didn't turn.

I unscrewed the 4 screws on bottom plate but could not remove the plate to see what was binding the belt.  I googled trying to find the user guide owners manual and also checked Youtube.  I got it to work it again after finding the user guide at searspartsdirect.com

Calvin and I happily vacuumed the living room!

You tube is great!  My daughter has done small repairs on her car from watching you tube videos.

That's a great story.  I just got a phone.  It's refurbished.  Worked great for bout' 2 weeks.  Than slowly stopped connecting to the charger.  I almost bought another battery for it.  Then I youtubed android charging problems.  Tried my charger from my old phone and voila - the clouds parted and the angels began to sing.  It was a beautiful moment.

I love YouTube for cooking techniques.

My mom never taught me to cook. My sister and I figured it out with trial and error, but she was much better than i.

So, now I look up the techniques, and feel so much more comfortable using kitchen tools and I am getting better.

I fixed my toilet once based on a video on youtube.  You don't want to pay a plumber $60 for a two-minute fix.

It is good that you were able to fix it yourself.  Not only did you save yourself a repair bill, but possibly might would have had to buy a new vacuum.

I have been using YouTube videos for that very reason. There's a lot of great instructional ones that have come in handy.
