old friends

I visited with a childhood friend about a month ago.  I am so glad I did as she passed away this past Sunday.  It has left a big whole in my heart....  So many wonderful memories of our youth, growing up, coming of age....

Just kidding.  I understand.  I have old friends and I have friends from the past.  Some of them are older than others.

It's good to catch up with old friends to see how life has been going with them.

Last summer a lot of our class got together, sort of a reunion. We had a ball. Lots of laughs some tears for those that have gone on before us. The two classes were from 1961 and 1960.  So it had been awhile since we had all  been together. Our school has had a few school reunions but this was just  our classes, some of us had seen each other since we  left town.  a couple were  not in good health and it would make you cry to see how hard they tried to enjoy them selves and i think they did.

Just kidding.  I understand.  I have old friends and I have friends from the past.  Some of them are older than others.   

One of my neighbors that I used to sing with in a barbershop quartet (so we were pretty close) just passed away at 80 and the older I get, the more often this happens.

Oh that's awesome.  I always like how when visiting old friends you can pick up where you left off and it seems no time has passed.  that connection is so cool.  Have a nice time.

I read the subject topic and then some of the responses in the thread and can't get the Simon & Garfunkel tune of the same name out of my head.  But I'm not complaining.  There are a lot of worse tunes to be held captive by.  This one is kind of pleasant.
