I want to be on the Price is Right or the Let's Make a Deal Show!

I watch these shows, and they had people from my town there, I am a good shopper lol. Anyone went to a show before even in the audience? I maybe wouldn't be a good participant for the wisdom shows, even the Family Feud, I found out you can't be a slow thinker on any of these show or shy. Have a gr8 day!

I think people fail to realize that before you can claim those prizes you must pay the taxes on the value out of your own pocket. You can't win if the IRS doesn't first. Remember, "You get a car, You get a car" cars packed into a lot because people could not afford to pay the taxes before receiving the car.

I have won allot at Casino's but that's cash and you can have them withhold the tax. But you also can not have the with holdings taken out , if you gamble allot and have enough proof like a book that has all of your winnings and loses. I used all my travelers checks copies  to Vegas to off set most of the earning tax but I also used a CPA to file and had done that type of filing. On big gifts like cars i would think you could opt to cash out selling them back even at a lower price to cover the tax.  I do have a friend who won 10 thousand on a scratch off ... hahahh he owed MN back taxes so the poor guy takes the ticket to the lotto office all happy for his wind fall and they tell him Thank you for the tax payment  and he got  L-zippO

I think the thrill of winning on the Price Is Right will be cooled down completely as once you win prizes, you have to pay the taxes ON SITE.

I've always been pretty good at guessing those games but have a feeling it would be a LOT harder in person!

Like someone else said, it would be nice to win the prizes on Price is Right but I did hear you have to pay the taxes immediately.  You're not allowed to take possession and then sell some to pay the taxes.  It would be difficult for me if I won any of the larger prizes.

I don't watch either of those shows, but years ago I liked Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and I wanted to be on that show. I guess anyone can apply, but you have to be willing to spend a long time in NYC on your own dime, waiting to get called. And like other posters said, you have to pay the taxes on what you win.

I like watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and playing along with my family.  It's crazy how fast some people are able to guess the answer in Wheel of Fortune!

I'd be horrible on a game show though, would be way too nervous to talk or think at all.

It would be fun to be on one of those game shows. Always did good while watching and playing along on The Price is Right.

I have a cousin who was on TPIR a good while back (I'm thinking it was in the 90's) and she won the Showcase Showdown, which at the time was either the largest or second largest total prize value in the show's history.  She and her husband were financially secure enough already that they were able to pay the prize taxes.  But the Average Joe would have been completely out of luck.

Do a thorough research. Save up money for taxes just in case you win and go for it, perhaps you will realize your dream...they do come true...good fortune to you
