I have three credit cards. One has a zero balance and my family does not know about it. I work two full time jobs and one part time job and give every cent to my family. They spend that money and more. The other two cards have an aggregate balance of about six thousand dollars that represents additional expenses for things that they had to have. Four hundred dollars a month comes from my monthly salaries to pay on those two credit cards but the family always seems to need to use them for a hundred dollars here and another hundred dollars there. I think that they will keep those balances stagnant for another four years. I could pay them off with money made on the side but they would just run the balances up again.

Still working on it.  :)  But don't think I would pay it off any time soon.  Still trying though.

I don't have credit card debt cuz I've paid them off using my last pay check b4 getting fired & my hubby's debt using the death benefits I've received in 2009. Since then, I've refused to get a credit card cuz I don't want to be a prisoner of debts again!

Thankfully, my husband and I are able to pay off any credit card debt in full each month.

Yeah, I'm closing down on mine quickly. I owed a bunch but through sites like this and a few others I've been able to put down more and more money towards these bills.

I paid off 3 credit cards in less than 5 years and they were high amounts. I kept my Discover because they were always good to me. I will only use it for emergencies now. Why? Because after I paid off my other cards, I guess they felt they had the right to up my interest rate. My rate was 9% and they raised it to 23.9% which is not fair to me since I always paid on time and above the minimum payment. Because of that, I'm have a hard time  reducing the balance. Last month they upped the amount I could charge by $1000. I didn't ask them to do this, so if it affects my credit score, I will be requesting them to take it back down to the original amount.

Who told you life was fair?  They can do whatever they want.  A few years ago there was a woman applying for a Lowe's card.  And as she is filling out the app at the register she smarts off to the cashier when the register asks for a yearly income and says "I don't see how that is any of their business'.  Well B***ch you are wanting to walk out of her with several thousand dollars worth of merchandise so it most certainly is their business if you have the ability to pay it back.  Sounds harsh but again, I am so sick of stupidity.  I don't know why they upped your interest rate but you are extremely luck if it was 8 or 9 percent.  I had one that was 8.9% for years and when they changed the laws on credit cards can't remember what exactly it went to 23% as well as every other card I had.  Credit Cards are evil and when I get mine paid off I will not use them again unless it is to order something.  And I will have the money to pay it off before I place the order.  Unless there is an emergency.

I paid off my debt the end of last year and it was a relief for sure. Now if I use credit I pay it off every month. I don't want to get into trouble again.

Not until I get my student loans wiped out, everything else will be easy.
