books
« on: December 17, 2016, 10:19:45 am »
I just got a book  from the library that has three stories by three different authors bound up into one.
I like the idea because the stories aren't as long.
I might know only one of the authors.
I get introduced to similar authors I wouldn't have found otherwise.

I like books with short stories as well. I have 2 books like that titled Weird Tales. They're a bunch of short horror stories in one big book.

Like the short stories also.  Great to read at lunch time at work when I am stuck at my desk.

I like a book summary or article synopsis. Some books take a lot of my time that I can free to do some other important things.

That sounds like a nice idea. I have not read anything at all lately :( I would like to try to get back into it sometime.

I don't read very much. However when I do it is usually a magazine. The few times I read books they were not many pages. It also has to interest me quickly or I put it away.

I hear what you're saying about the short stories. Like most kids, I learnt to read when I was at school, I had no problems reading text itself, but if I was given a project to read 2 chapters for homework, I would have a problem reporting back on what I'd read. It wasn't until I went out to work in my twenties that a good friend told me that it's not that I have a problem reading, it's that I can't relate to the information I am reading about, it doesn't interest me. So she let me borrow some short stories from her vast collection of books at home. They were lovely little stories, sentimental and easy to read. I had zero difficulties finishing the books and I could hold a discussion on everything I'd read. She was very helpful to me.
