UPS & FedexDeliveries
« on: December 01, 2016, 02:20:31 pm »
This is the time people have more packages delivered to their homes.  This is also the time more people steal these packages.  If possible have them sent to your job, or to a neighbor or friend or family member who are usually always home.  It's a shame we have to do things like this.

Absolutely true - that's why I make sure I'm either home or they leave it with someone I trust.

Yes you are right.. and it's funny because usually UPS etc they always leave the package in front of my door and go away immediately after knocking... now since today they are going to knock and wait until you answer... this is what the UPS guy told me this morning... at least only for the coming weeks.... funny

Since we are going to be home  for the seasons, some of our neighbors who are expecting  packages have asked us to pick them us when they are delivered,  And the delivery people already know that we are to get them. Don't mind doing it for them they rarely get to see their children who live a long ways off.

Yes, one of our local news stations just did a story about this a few days ago, it really is  a shame but that's the world we seem to live in today. Probably best if you know you have a package coming to set up a pre- delivery time when you know someone will be home or if possible have delivered to your job or neighbor.

It is sad that packages get stolen from porches. Even in some of the best neighborhoods it happens. I think the thieves just ride around looking for packages. So sad !!

I've only had a package once either get stolen from me or get delivered to the wrong address. It really sucked.

Was home all day today and still had my package delivered to the wrong address.  Good thing my neighbor was home today too! She brought them over after dinner

A few days ago I was tracking a package delivered through UPS and was given an end of day delivery at 2300 hours. I watched and listened all day and all evening to get no delivery. Next day watched and waited, still no delivery. Went to check the mail and noticed a white box in my ditch that had been sitting out in the rain for a couple of days. It was the package that I was waiting for a Hughes Network Modem. It looked as if the river slowed down enough to toss it by the mail box but rolled into the ditch. I'm still very upset with them. This is the first time this has ever happened with UPS. They normally come to my front door, knock and then leave the package at the doorstep. I also have been having issues for years with my mail carrier setting packages on top of my rounded off mailbox rather than coming into the driveway to leave at the door. Being rounded off on the top, the packages tend to slip and fall rolling into the ditch. Ne sense of mail security out here in the country I guess.

UPS comes to my door and knocks. The postal carrier just leaves the package on my porch. Doesn't knock or anything. How hard is it to knock????
