Funny how they raised something like $7 million for the recount...  way more than the total amount she raised for both of her Presidential campaigns & both her Governor Campaigns combined.... AND, how fast.   There is always more than meets the eye.

If people are put to work recounting, well then the money was well spent.   Putting the money back into the economy...

It's embarrassing for America, I think, that we look so divided & pathetic to the rest of the world...   like we elected ISIS or the *bleep* Party.   It's just the other major political party of the United States... Republicans.    Donald Trump's entire family was Democrat up until this Presidential Election.

I just saw the results of the recount.... Trump got MORE votes than were counted.   The other two states in for recounts have been withdrawn.

I was very surprised to hear about the recount. But this was a very unusual election. So anything is possible at this point.

She only wanted to make sure votes are valid and accurate so that voting systems are not hacked.

It is a waste of time and money. This would not have been happening if  Hillary hadwon. thank  God she didn't.  A lot of people woke up to the fact our government was not holding up  their end and it was all for them. We are not sheep and we don't need the government thinking for us.  As for raising money for a recount i am sure  the lady will be putting a lot of that in her pocket. again peope fell for another scam put on by a democrat

I thought I was finally over listening about this election when the recount was issued. Can this all be done already and let our country move on?

What are your thoughts about Jill Stein getting about 6 million to have recounts in 3 states?  Do you think it's a waste of time and money, or do you think it might change the outcome of the election?

She is an idiot.  No, it will not change the outcome of the election.  They have already said if they do a recount it will not change anything.  The democrats are just a bunch of sore losers.

Jill Stein is not a democrat, so why are they sore losers?  I am so tired of all the name calling that has surrounded this election.    With over 17 US government agencies finding interference by the Russian government I feel like we do need to look into this election to see what happened and how to prevent another government from doing anything like that again.

The Electoral College issue should be looked at, it is not right that if you live in a state with a high population your vote only counts as 1/3 to a 1/2 vote.  This is the 2nd time in the last few years where the popular vote did not matter.  It is a shame and will cause people not to bother to vote, because it doesn't matter anyway.   Every vote SHOULD COUNT  EQUALLY!!

If she wants a recount, let her have it. It's not going to change anything most likely but if people want to support it then whatever.  :angel11:

Every vote does count... in your state.   The United States is a collection of individual states, each individual state matters in representation.  You get the same representation to vote for President as your state has representatives in Congress.
The Presidential election isn't about getting a popular vote in the entire nation, ALL presidential campaigns were geared for getting the electoral college votes.   If the candidates were only after the popular vote they would have campaigned primarily in California & New York, and ignore all the states in the "fly over" states.      I know people in California who don't bother to vote because California voters always vote Democrat...   if any other party had a chance, the other party would get more voters coming to the polls.  In California we had two Democrat candidates running for Senate, not one Republican.  Same goes for New York, you run as a Democrat or you don't win.   The Electoral System gives the smaller states representation,  our founding fathers were geniuses...  that is why America is so awesome. :)

Electoral college voters are determined by population the same way representatives for congress are determined. Higher population states have more electoral votes and more representatives. States determine if it is "winner take all" because we are a collection of states that form the United States.

I won't respond to the Electoral College issue as the two posters before me have covered that well.  My only comment on that issue is that the Electoral College works EXACTLY as it was intended and it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to make all votes outside of New York and California count.

Regarding the original question; the re-counts are an absolute waste of money.  Although it is the Green Party candidate soliciting the donations and the face behind the re-count, you can bet that a huge portion of the solicited funds came from Hillary supporters. Their money would be better served conducting a study as to why so many Hillary supporters stayed home and did not bother to vote.

The most likely reason is that they felt they didn't need to because of all the [liberal slanted media] polls saying Trump had no chance and Hillary had it in the bag. Yet the day after the election, so many of the peaceful demonstrators [rioters and looters] were out crying because the person they wanted to win (but didn't bother to make the effort to vote for) didn't win.

It wasn't Russian hackers or Wiki-leaks that cost Hillary the election, it was the over-confident media in her own back pocket predicting landslide victory they kept so many liberal voters at home on Election Day.  If her supporters want to avoid an 8 year Trump Presidency, they should focus their money on voter turnout rather than 2016 recounts.
