Michigan newpapers price increase
« on: November 27, 2016, 08:21:38 am »
The newspapers are now $3.00 instead of  $2.00. That hurts. I usually just
buy the Sunday paper.

I nly get the Sunday paper, and that is just for the coupons and the magazine.  That is probably why the price keeps increasing, fewer and fewer people actually read a newspaper.

I am amazed that newspapers still exist given that the same information and coupons can be taken from the internet. Even more surprised that a newspaper would raise it's rates. We get a free Sunday paper at the health club we belong to. Eighty percent of it is advertisement and seventy percent of that is automobile advertisements. The stories are laid out so that they are continued on another page and you are forced to go through five pages of advertisements to get to the continuance. Most of the stories are skewed or presented as propaganda. Different sites on the internet are horribly skewed as well but at least you can get both sides of a story and form your own opinion. For example you can go to Fox news and get a republican view and go to CNN and get a completely different take. They are both selling out for their cause but not charging me to look.

I think they are trying to gain revenue from paper sales since the number of people buying them are dwindling. Most people rely on online for information.
