Has anyone had great success with their hair growing from the use of organic hair oil?

No, never used it for that.  But it does work instead of butter or oil when you cook.  I put some in my dogs food and their coats are beautiful, smooth, shiny, healthy looking.

Yes, I swear by coconut oil for damaged hair.
I do a deep conditioner once a week were I will leave the oil on for an hour then wash out. Be sure to scrub your shower floor good after you rinse out! My hair has gotten a bit longer but what amazed me was how much thicker it has become since using. My hair used to be so dull and straw like from common daily use of styling products. I even tried WEN products (smells great but the hype ends there) until one of my friends told me to use organic coconut oil. She told me she uses coconut oil every shower she takes but after reading online an hour a week will make noticeable changes to your hair.

Nope - never used it for hair growth.  Although I have used it as a balm for dry elbows and feet in the winter.  I've put it in smoothies, soups, substitute it for butt when making noodles etc.  I leaves my skin nice and moist... so I'm sure my hair is reaping the benefits as well through my scalp.

I have heard it's great if you have dry and/or damaged hair. It makes my hair feel soft for most of the day. I don't use it all that often however, it's too heavy on my hair to use it all the time. Never noticed any new growth.

I use coconut oil but I don't notice hair growth because of it.  I like it for the shine.

That's really interesting. I have a jar of coconut oil which someone gave me when they moved to another state, and I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. I don't like to waste anything and so I was really pleased to read that there are so many really good ideas here. I do know coconut is a super food in its own right so it doesn't surprise me that it is good for so many things. Healthy skin, hair and nails - sounds about right.

You can also try eating/cooking with it. That's what I use it for the most. It helps rev up your metabolism and it's anti fungal.

I haven't tried it for the hair yet (though I need to, because I constantly dye my hair, and even though I use the least harsh brands, my hair is still somewhat dry) but I can tell you it is amazing as a moisturizing scrub for the face and body! I melt a few tablespoons and mix it with about 1/2 cup of brown sugar and use it in the shower. I feel like a queen afterward! But it does make the bath very, very slick, and makes your vision foggy if it gets in your eyes! Definitely earth's little miracle oi.
