What charities do you give money to?

I usually give food to the food bank, but when I hear about charites stealing money, that makes me hesitant about giving money.

I really do not give money to charities - really unsure if the cause is truly getting the money. I usually do something for special needs in our area considering I have a special needs child.

I usually don't give money. Just donate to the food bank and to some families in our church who are fatherless and have limited food supplies this time of the year.

I try not to think of them cheating. I donate to a few of them. Sometimes give cash to the ones who collect in front the stores during the holidays. I believe they are the United Way.

I do the food banks, I do the fill the backpacks, I do buy the turkey and fixems to fill the bus, and I buy coats for the coat drive, I buy many small Christmas gifts for boys and girls at different ages (because of where I work and shop I see several places to dropoff my gifts. I do volunteer my time some times, all in my area. They except stuff such as the above, I don't like to give money either. I get to shop and they get the stuff, win/win you agree?

I don't have any spare money...it's all accounted for and it's paying off debt. I would give money to environmental causes of anything to support our troops.

I try to switch charities every year and aim for the small ones. The larger charities seem to spend a higher percentage of the donation on administration rather then helping out the aim of their intent.  Last year I donated ten dollars for everyone on my Christmas list to Homeboy Industries.  I also purchased a hat for each donation, safety pinned a five dollar bill to it and challenged every recipient to pass both on to the first homeless person they encountered. I aim to do something similar every Christmas so that awareness can be brought of those that are less fortunate than us.  Homeboy industries is a charity focused on helping gang members break free from gangs, teaches the members new skills for re-integrating into society, helps them find jobs and provides tattoo removal.

I give to the food bank and a local charity.  I also volunteer there to help out. Money is tight, but i feel giving of my time and helping fill the  food boxes put  up in town helps a lot. We also collect  clothing of all sorts which we give out to those who need it. When we have too many it is boxed up and sent to  Texas where it is sorted and pack to go over seas to help out over there. So  we help with that too, i feel every one should help out. either donating or helping .

I go yard sailing! because I know the people in the area need money or they would not be having a yard sale. I one day want to buy the entire yard. To make someone smile, Because i know that person is struggling to make it. Sometimes selling all they have is all they need to get by for one more day.
