Melted Snowman Cookies
« on: November 10, 2016, 08:25:08 am »
I found these adorable sugar cookies that are a melting snowman. It calls for a marshmallow has the head, icing on the cookie as the melting part, and then black decorating icing for the eyes and buttons and arms. However, I was thinking of possibly using chocolate chips for the buttons. I don't know what to use for the eyes? Maybe chocolate chips again? Would they stick to the marshmallow though? I also forgot about the arms when shopping  :o and I'm not sure what to use. I was thinking of maybe no arms at all.  ??? Any suggestions? I think I'm going to make these for Christmas time.

For the whites of the eyes, you could use white chocolate morsels, or buttons. For the arms you could use liquorice, scissor shredded at the ends for stick fingers. That sounds like an adorable idea. Perhaps you could post a picture on this link so we can see how it turned out. The most adventurous snack treats I ever made was oreo spiders at Halloween! I used liquorice for the legs and I cut out a red violin shape from a fruit roll-up which became the signature sign for the black widow.

I don't like licorice. Cute Idea though!

They have stick pretzels, thats what Id use as arms. They also have tiny chocolate chips you could use

Also have tiny m & m's you could use for buttons,  and you could put a tiny bit of the icing to make them stick to marshmallow

That's what we used when we made these last year. The M&M's are nice because you can add some color to it (we used red and green). We also used Twizzlers / red licorice for a scarf.

This is the time of year to start baking again. This actually sounds like it can be easy to make. add them to the list

I've seen these done before.  In fact a friend at work brought them in.  She used pretzel sticks.  The salty sweet combination was just right.  She tried using black buttercream frosting for the buttons and eye's...but it smeared and didn't look as she'd hoped.

pat down flattish a small dollop of divinity instead of the marshmallow.  Wish you a merry holiday.

Using icing to make them stick to the marshmallow, that's a great idea. I'll use that!
