Daylight Savings Time Again

I really hate it getting dark earlier. Makes it feel like my days are shorter. Time flies by so quickly, this just makes it seem even quicker !!

I wish that they would leave daylight saving time alone. The Lord made it that way and man should not intefere with the Lord's work.

Standard time and time zones really didn't come into effect until the 1800's. The way we tell time today was developed by man.

I hear what you're saying. It is eye opening when you realise how early it will be getting dark after school, however it is equally staggering that I have been dropping my oldest son off at the Junior High School while it is still dark. He has to cross the crosswalk to get to the school, there is no lighting at the crosswalk and on a number of occasions cars have had to screech to a halt because they don't see him. I have told my son to keep an extra eye out for speeding cars, but one day an accident is going to happen. I think there should be stop light so that the kids can cross safely.

The only thing more annoying than having to change the clock is the number of people that get daylight savings time mixed up with standard time DST starts in the spring and ends in the fall. I completely understand why so many people get confused, though; I actually was mistaken during my school-years as it made more sense that when there was less daylight hours, you'd try to "save" the daylight when people were awake. I actually think that DST should be switched to begin in the Fall (eg Fall Forward) and end in the spring (Spring Back). I think more people are awake at 5-6pm than 5-6am so it would make more sense to have sunset at around that time instead of it getting dark by 5pm (and at winter solstice, at 4pm! ) Similarly, in the summer I'd rather it start getting dark around 9pm instead of still being bright outside. SMH
